He was sentenced to seven days in jail.
A man was detained in the emergency room of Hospital No. 5 in Minsk for ‘unauthorised picketing’ without the permission of the city authorities: he had a tattoo of ‘Pahonia’ on his leg. He was sent to Akrestsina for seven days for that. This case became known from the bank of court decisions.
The young man was detained on May 22. He held the ‘picketing’ in the emergency room of the hospital. The man himself explained in court that he had no socio-political goals, but was simply dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, as it was hot.
He was tried the day after his arrest.
According to the case materials, the young man ‘violated the order of picketing, which was expressed in his unauthorised picketing, without the appropriate permission of Minsk city executive committee, in order to publicly express his socio-political interests, during which he demonstrated to the surrounding citizens a tattoo in the form of the coat of arms of Pahonia on the right calf muscle.’
‘Holding a picket in a public place of the city affects the rights not only of its participants, but also of other citizens who do not participate in the mass event,’ the court justified its decision.
