A helicopter ready for combat duty was on board the destroyed 'Sergey Kotov' patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

"We confirm the destruction of a modern ship of the enemy fleet worth more than 60 million dollars, it was the newest vessel. It is indeed confirmed that there was a helicopter on board - on the deck. Completely ready for combat duty, that is, with ammunition, shells, with the armament of the on-board cannon. Also the death toll is at least seven, possibly more and increasing casualties. Part of the crew was evacuated," said the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Andriy Yusov on the air of the TV marathon.

He noted that since the beginning of the new year this is not the first successful operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate Group 13 of the Defence Ministry together with the AFU Navy and assured that such work will be continued.

"Starting from the new year this is already the third destruction of the enemy ship. We remind you, before that there were "Caesar Kunikov" and "Ivanovets". The work will be continued," emphasised Yusov.

We remind you that on the night of March 5, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence in cooperation with the AFU Navy conducted a special operation in the Black Sea, as a result of which the 'Sergey Kotov' patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation was hit by MAGURA V5 marine drones near the Kerch Strait.

According to preliminary data, irrecoverable losses among the crew of the wrecked Russian vessel totalled to seven Russian sailors, another six - sanitary losses.

The Ukrainian Navy noted that in addition to serious losses among the crew, Russia could have lost an attack helicopter that was supposed to be on board the destroyed Russian 'Sergey Kotov' ship.
