A massive fire broke out at the airport in Sochi, Russia, which the Russians called "planned". According to the legend of the airport press service, the fire and column of black smoke are allegedly related to "exercises", reports obozrevatel.com.

Local residents filmed a fire at the airport on March 13. At the same time, the local branch of the Emergencies Ministry and the airport's press service said that the fire was "planned", as it was allegedly related to "exercises".

"The smoke that you can see from the airport territory is the result of training activities carried out by the airport's emergency services together with the city's MES units. And the fire is planned to practice fire extinguishing," they reported in the RF.

In addition, the airport said that the exercises do not affect the service of flights, and are held to improve the level of readiness and professionalism of rescue services.
