Dmitry Nyberg told why he supports Ukraine and Belarus

Dmitry Nyberg is a famous Russian blogger and streamer. He reviews musical bands and artists, analyzes hit albums of famous artists. In an interview with the Basta! Telegram channel he told why he supports the warring Ukraine and free Belarus.

— At the end of many videos you say “Glory to Ukraine”, “Long live Belarus!” and “Russia will be free!” What do you think unites these three slogans?

— These three slogans unite people not by nationality, but by their views. My country is sick. It is mad, and in its madness it does absolutely unforgivable things both towards its citizens and towards the citizens of neighboring countries. I wish it to be freed from that power and from the madness with which this power infects everyone it can reach.

Long live Belarus is a slogan that appeared in my vocabulary on August 9, 2020. We followed your presidential “elections.” We hoped, seeing how the whole of Belarus rebelled against Lukashenka, and we were sad when his regime survived. Unfortunately, modern Belarus has a lot in common with Russia, but I hope that it will be able to overcome this with less bloodshed, because we have already seen in 2020 how many of you there are and how united you are. I’ll say more, we envied you.

As for Ukraine, it’s as simple as possible. This is a country that has been attacked. These are people who protect their homes, their families and their future. You said that at the time of departure my position was anti-war. And it is true. But repeating “anything but war” when the war has been going on for two years is stupidity.

I want this war to end, but I do care at what cost and with what outcome it ends. It must end with the victory of Ukraine, which is waging the Patriotic War against the occupiers and invaders. And paradoxically, only a victory for Ukraine can give Russia a chance for a normal future. Therefore, yes. Glory to Ukraine! Long live Belarus! Russia will be free!
