US billionaire Elon Musk has mocked Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's "historical digressions" to US propagandist Tucker Clarkson on the Twitter social network.

Musk posted a meme on his page with footage from the interview and a caption in which Carlson allegedly asks Putin why Russia invaded Ukraine. When asked the question, the Russian dictator allegedly starts looking for "historical parallels."

"I'm coming to that. You see, on May 28, 2016, a gorilla was shot at the Cincinnati Zoo...," Putin said in a joking utterance in the picture.
