Main Intelligence Directorate Obtains Russian Defence Ministry's Secret Information

The documents obtained as a result of the hacking of a "fat" target have been published.

On January 30, 2024, the server of the Russian Ministry of Defence, which was used for special communications, was "brought down" as a result of a cyberattack. This is stated in the message of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of defence of Ukraine.

As stated in the message, the operation in the cyberspace of the enemy carried out by specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

"As a result of the cyberattack the exchange of information between the units of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, which used the specified server located in Moscow," noted the MID.

In addition, the intelligence added that the software on the attacked server had been approved by the FSB of the Russian Federation as one that meets state standards for information protection.

"The corresponding software has been installed at various strategic facilities of the public sector of Russia, in particular - at the military ones. The cyber operation is ongoing," the MID summarised.
