Russian top officers were eliminated right during the meeting.
On January 29, during a strike aimed at the site of the invaders' concentration in Donetsk, 24 Russian servicemen were killed, seven of them officers, reports the "Kremlin Snuffbox" Telegram channel, which is close to the Russian military command, citing sources in the General Staff.
In total, about 8-10 missiles were fired at the two targets. It is claimed that some of the missiles were intercepted by electronic warfare systems, while the remaining air targets hit Russian officers while they were at the meeting and the site of the dislocation of the Russian military near the Druzhba sports palace.
The meeting, which was interrupted by the missile strike, was about the offensive operation in Avdiivka, Russian propagandists complain.
A total of 11 officers were driven to the meeting. Since "for the sake of conspiracy" they gathered in one of the "non-residential premises", the Russian military suspect that "someone ratted them out".
"Seven officers died, three more were wounded, one miraculously survived. They were discussing, as far as I know, what to do with Avdiivka," the propagandists quote a Russian military officer who is in the city.
Also the military who were at their assigned position were allegedly killed. There were fresh reserves there that had recently been pulled up to the city.
The total death toll, including officers, is 24. Nearly 30 others are wounded, the Russian channel writes.
Oddities in the Work of Air Defence
The Russians suspect that their own military from the air defence could have been involved in the attack - allegedly the work of the electronic warfare system could have been "simulated".
It is also reported that because of the work of Russian air defence systems civilians suffered in the middle of the city - at least three people were killed.
"The electronic warfare systems were actively working. It is not clear, however, whether it was a real work or imitation. One missile flew exactly into the office where there was a meeting of officers, and two landed near the building. Plus it's not clear why the missiles were shot down right over the city streets. As a result, at least three civilians were killed by falling debris. At the same time, several missiles landed near Druzhba, and nobody shot them down. Although in general they were shooting down actively," the propagandists' source said.
All air defence soldiers who were repelling the attack on the occupants were allegedly summoned to their commanders for a talk. Two of them did not come and disappeared without a trace, they are now being searched for as "most likely they are traitors".
