BILD: Russian Airborne Troops Exhausted Beyond Limit

The Russian Federation is now fighting a war in the worst Soviet style.

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) report, citing intelligence, that Russian airborne troops have suffered heavy losses on the frontline. The UK Ministry of Defence, in turn, emphasises that they are due to insufficient air and artillery support.

"At the first stage of the war, Russia lost a lot of its strong and experienced airborne troops. Now Russia often uses airborne infantrymen as primitive assault troops," military expert Nico Lange told BILD.

According to Lange, Russian commanders have so exhausted the airborne troops that "they are unlikely to be able to conduct major offensive operations in Ukraine."

The UK Ministry of Defence believes that the Russian Armed Forces are losing an average of 300 soldiers a day. According to US data, Russian army losses totalled 315,000 by December last year.

"Russia is now waging war in the worst Soviet style: people are simply used as human material and thrown away," Lange believes.
