Simonyan's propagandists have disappointed the Russian Ministry of Defence.
A video taken at the crash site of the Russian IL-76 transport plane has appeared on social networks.
The footage published does not show dozens of dead, or even body fragments, as Russian propagandists have claimed.
The video was shot by the Kremlin-owned television channel Russia Today, whose editor-in-chief is Margarita Simonyan.
The footage shows rescuers and firefighters working at the site of the crash. The wreckage is visible around them, but no bodies can be seen, dialog.ua wrote.
Earlier, the Russian defence ministry said that Ukrainian prisoners of war and the plane's crew were allegedly killed in the crash.
The Russians claim there were 65 Ukrainian prisoners on board who were being transported to the Belgorod region for exchange.
However, a video published by Russia Today does not confirm this information. The footage shows rescuers working in a relatively calm environment. There is no indication that there were many casualties at the crash site.
This incident raises questions about the credibility of the information being spread by the Russian media.
They have repeatedly published inaccurate information about the war in Ukraine.
