105 Employees, 230 Guests Evacuated From Minsk 'Renaissance' Hotel

What happened?
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported on tactical and special exercises to extinguish fires and eliminate other emergencies at facilities with mass stay of people, which were held in the Minsk "Renaissance" hotel today.
The training involved 64 people and 16 units of equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The main objectives of the exercise were:
to check the readiness of the on-duty personnel of the facility to act in case of emergencies;
training of the procedure on interaction between EMERCOM employees and the on-duty personnel of the facility;
training of personnel of the garrison units to improve techniques and methods of rescue operations.
According to the training legend, there was a fire in the hotel room and corridor on the eighth floor because of a violation of fire safety rules.
"By the time the MES units arrive, the decoration and furniture items in the room and corridor on the 8th floor are burning in the area of 30 sq.m, there is information about two victims, a man is asking for help on the balcony of the neighbouring room, there is a threat of fire spreading to the adjacent rooms, to the floors above and below," - this is how the training situation is described.
During the exercise, 335 people were evacuated, including 105 hotel employees and 230 guests. Three people were "rescued", two using the stairwell and another using a crane lift.
