Foreign Trucks Can Cross Belarus-Russia Border Only In One Point

A new restriction has been introduced for truck drivers from the EAEU.
From 6 pm on January 12, truckers from EAEU member countries are allowed through only one checkpoint on the Belarusian-Russian border.
This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Committee with reference to the Border Service of the FSB of Russia.
Passage of truck drivers — citizens of the EAEU member states (Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia) across the Belarusian-Russian border — is carried out only through the checkpoint on the Ezerishche-Lobok section.
“The customs legislation of the EAEU allows for operations related to extending the period of customs transit of goods, changing the place of delivery of goods, obtaining permission from the customs authority to carry out cargo operations and (or) transfer,” the State Customs Committee stated.
It is important to note that since January 11, Belarusian customs officers began to record cases of heavy vehicles being turned back at the border of Belarus and Russia. This concerned cars driven by citizens of third countries (that is, not Belarus and Russia). It was stated that the reason for the return was the lack of grounds for entry into Russian territory.
