More than fivefold.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed decree #16 “On the temporary establishment of import customs duty rates,” his press service reports.

The decree “is aimed at protecting the economic interests of Belarus and creates conditions for the replacement of relevant imports with goods produced in the EAEU.”

The document, until June 30 inclusive, established increased import customs duties rates (35% of the customs value) with regard to shampoos, hair care products and teeth cleaning products originating from “countries of the Anglo-Saxon group (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand).”

In the unified commodity nomenclature for foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union, teeth cleaning products and hair care products belong to the 33rd group of goods that are subject to an import customs duty rate (as a percentage of the customs value or in euros or US dollars) — 6.5 %.

Thus, duty rates have been increased by approximately 5.4 times, Pozirk notes.
