They threaten to beat him up.
On August 3, disabled political prisoner Uladzimir Gundar called his relatives for the first time from the Babruisk colony, a source, who wished to remain unnamed, told BPN.
According to the interlocutor, 63-year-old Hundar did not complain about the conditions of detention, he has enough food, and now he stays outdoors a lot, writing and reading there.
"However, he told his relatives that there are two criminal prisoners who pick at him, threatening to beat him up. These are Yauhen Yermalovich and Vital Ramanenko," said the person familiar with the situation. The reasons for the threats are still unknown.
The interlocutor said that Hundar had lost a lot of weight and was moving using crutches because of the absence of a leg.
The source also noted that the convicts have information from the outside, knowing, for example, about the death of artist Ales Pushkin, some events in Ukraine and the border incident involving Belarusian helicopters.
In May 2021, the Brest Regional Court sentenced an activist from Baranavichy (Brest region) to 3 years of imprisonment under general regime under the article on "violence against an official" (Article 366).
Later, the political prisoner became a defendant in the "Autukhovich case", in which he was initially accused of "terrorism". On October 17, 2022 the Hrodna Regional Court sentenced him to 18 years of imprisonment under reinforced regime, but under different articles - for "creation of a criminal organisation" (part 1 of article 285) and "attempted conspiracy to seize state power by unconstitutional means" (part 1 of article 14 and part 2 of article 357).
In April 2023, Hundar was sentenced for the third time - for 2.5 years for "insulting" the prosecutor (Art. 369). Taking into account the previous sentences, the final punishment is 20 years in prison.
