What happened next?
In Minsk, a man was tried for draft evasion as he did not appear at the military registration and enlistment office by the summons, and before that he received a sick leave in a polyclinic. He was arrested for three months, the prosecutor's office said.
As it turned out, the Minsk resident received a summons personally with signature — he was supposed to come to the military registration and enlistment office for a medical examination. However, he fell ill and went to the polyclinic, where he was given a sick leave certificate.
As a result, the man did not come to the commissariat at the appointed time, and also did not present a sick leave certificate as a document confirming the good reason for not appearing. After that, he did not get in touch for two months, although he was at home all this time and could let the military enlistment office know about himself, according to the prosecutor's office.
A criminal case was opened against a failed conscript under Part 1 of Article 435 of the Criminal Code (evasion of events related to the conscription for military service) he had previously been tried under the same article.
The man pleaded guilty. He was also found guilty by the court, which sentenced him to three months' imprisonment.
