Main Intelligence Directorate: Influential Structure Removing Shoigu, Gerasimov From Power

The structure of the Kremlin regime may rapidly crumble.

The leadership of the Russian Federal Security Service is trying to remove the head of the Russian Defence Ministry Sergei Shoigu and the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov.

Andriy Cherniak, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence, told RBC-Ukraine that the internal political struggle inside the Kremlin is gaining momentum.

"Ukraine's military intelligence confirms the FSB's attempts to change the leadership of the Russian Defence Ministry. This internal conflict continues, and only one side can be the winner in it. However, it is still unclear which side will gain the upper hand in this confrontation," Chernyak said.

He added that the conflict between the FSB and the regular army is a continuation of Yevgeny Prigozhin's mutiny. The FSB is closely monitoring the course of the conflict, purges of generals, arrests, special measures, and mysterious deaths of representatives of the aggressor state's power elites.

"It looks like the Kremlin's not-young leader, as a result of an insane military adventure, has been forced to make a leg-split between his close clans: it's hard to sit still and painful to get up. If some clan suddenly starts moving rapidly in the wrong direction again, the structure may collapse altogether," the MainGUR Intelligence Directorate representative said.
