“Human rights” Commissioner under Putin commented on the incident.
State Duma deputies and senators from Chechnya support Ramzan Kadyrov's 15-year-old son Adam, who beat Nikita Zhuravel, who burned the Koran, in jail, said Adam Delimkhanov, a deputy and Kadyrov's ally, reports The Moscow Times.
“Given the heinous crime of this inhuman Zhuravel, Adam acted very humanely, leaving him alive. For such deeds, people deserve the harshest punishment,” Delimkhanov wrote on his Telegram channel.
In his opinion, Kadyrov's son “showed an example of patriotism.” Delimkhanov urged those who disagree with this point of view to discuss the act of a 15-year-old teenager with him personally.
Magomed Daudov, head of the Chechen parliament, made a similar statement. “I am absolutely sure that Adam acted like a true Muslim, a patriot of his country and a real Chechen man! Any sane person, regardless of religion and nationality, will also fully justify Adam's act regarding this blasphemer,” Daudov wrote.
He added that the Chechen authorities not only understand the 15-year-old, but also “ardently support and approve” his actions. “Adam is the flesh of the flesh of the great Kadyrov family. He worthily continues the traditions of the defender of the Motherland and the uncompromising fighter against evil!” Daudov noted.
In May, Nikita Zhuravel burned a Koran near the Cathedral Mosque in the center of Volgograd. During the interrogation, he said that he had done it “according to the instructions of the special services of Ukraine for a reward of 10 thousand rubles,” and handed over the recording of the action to an SSU officer.
RIA Novosti published a video in which Zhuravel apologized to the Muslims of the world and called the burning of the Koran “a very bad act”. Despite this, on May 21 his case was transferred to Chechnya, and on May 27 he was taken to a pre-trial detention center in Grozny, where he will be tried.
On August 16, the Human Rights Ombudsman in Chechnya Mansur Soltaev spoke about Zhuravel's complaint regarding being beaten by 15-year-old Kadyrov. “A corresponding appeal was addressed for my attention, and I personally went to the pre-trial detention center. During the conversation, Nikita said that on the day of the meeting with the Head of the Chechen Republic, after Ramzan Kadyrov left the cell, he was beaten by Adam Kadyrov,” Soltaev said.
Tatyana Moskalkova, Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, confirmed this information. She asked Soltaev to pay special attention to the medical examination of the beatings and the testimonies of witnesses.
Earlier, the sons of the head of Chechnya, 17-year-old Akhmat and 15-year-old Adam, were awarded “For outstanding fight against terrorism”, and last October, Ramzan Kadyrov said that his underage sons participated in hostilities in Ukraine.
