Lithuania Closes Border With Belarus At Medininkai Checkpoint: Possible Reason Revealed

Eyewitnesses spoke about the conflict between Lithuanian and Belarusian border guards.
The Medininkai checkpoint on the border with Belarus was closed due to a dispute on a migrant passage, according to eyewitnesses.
“A dispute unfolded because of a migrant who was in a neutral border zone. The Lithuanians asked to return him back to the Republic of Belarus, but ours did not accept, well, the Lithuanians closed the border,” a telegram chat for the issues of the border between Belarus and the EU reads.
Charter97.org reported that the Belarusian State Border Committee announced that at 13:00 the Lithuanian side “unilaterally stopped the registration of individuals and vehicles at the Medininkai checkpoint” (opposite the Kamenny Loh checkpoint).
