DW: EU Prepares New Sanctions For Belarusian Elections Anniversary

The last package was accepted about a year ago.

The European Union intends to adopt a new package of sanctions in connection with the violation of human rights in Belarus on August 9, reports Deutsche Welle.

According to a high-ranking EU official, there is a discussion of a new package of sanctions related to the complicity of Belarus in Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.

Brussels has not recognized the results of the 2020 presidential election in Belarus. At the moment, six packages of sanctions have been introduced against the Belarusian authorities, the last one was adopted about a year ago.
