As Radio Liberty found out, the deceased artist Ales Pushkin underwent surgery in the hospital. The political prisoner's heart stopped during the surgery.

An informed source cited by the edition claimed that Ales Pushkin wrote in his last letters that he had lost 20 kilograms in a short time. He also asked the source to send him a waist support belt, as his kidneys hurt.

Ales Pushkin, according to the source, was taken to the Hrodna Emergency Hospital unconscious. He underwent surgery and his heart stopped during it.
