An attempt to brainwash college students ended in a fiasco.

A student of one of the Minsk secondary educational institutions shared her story with the website Charter97.org.

“Ideological work is in full swing here. Guests regularly come to us and talk about the “Belarusian earthly paradise”. We, the students, are already so tired of these endless lies, we were not silent and began to ask questions why we are constantly being told how good it is to live in Belarus, we are not five years old, we see and evaluate everything ourselves. I asked why we don't have a psychology course, which we really need, because we lack the knowledge of how to protect ourselves, how to be self-confident, how not to worry, how to learn to make friends, how to cope with a first crush. The “chamber member” replied that we, students of secondary institutions, “have bad brains”, therefore we went to get a secondary education, and not a higher education, our brain is not able to overcome such a complex science as psychology. The audience began to “burn up”, as we were not going to listen to insults from this blockhead.

And he kept bending his line about the rotten West, all the time trying to brainwash us about “how hard and bad it is to live in Poland”. And when I raised my hand to ask: “Have you been there, so you speak like this?” he lashed out at me with a curse and a counter-question whether I have been in Poland. And when I answered that I had spent the weekend there, he snapped and shouted: “Well, go to your Poland then.” I got up and left the classroom. Then a question followed if anyone else wanted to go to Poland, 7 more people got up and left the classroom.

I don’t know how our story will end, perhaps we will be expelled for poor progress in studying, or perhaps they will turn a blind eye to all this. But I am not going to put up with the rudeness and impoliteness from the “chamber guy”, said our reader.
