Human Rights Activists: Viktar Babaryka Was Recently Placed In Cell-Type Premises

Back in winter, the political prisoner was held in the punishment cell for a long time.

Human rights activists received information that the political prisoner and ex-candidate for the presidency of Belarus Viktar Babaryka was placed in a cell-type premises. When exactly this happened is unknown. It is also reported that Babaryka spent a long time in the punishment cell in winter.

A cell-type premise is a special cell where prisoners are transferred as a penalty for “malicious violations” of the established order of the colony. There they have the right to shop in the prison store for one base fee per month, receive one parcel in six months, have a daily walk of 30 minutes, and go to work.

Important to note, today it became known that Viktar Babaryka had been hospitalized on the night of April 24-2. Now the politician is in the surgical department of the Navapolatsk hospital. According to his headquarters, for several months Babaryka did not receive any written correspondence; lately he has been in a punishment cell.
