Russian military correspondents have reported that Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev has been dismissed from his post as deputy head of the Russian Defence Ministry.

He was responsible for the logistics of the army.

Russian Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev has been nicknamed the "butcher of Mariupol" for being the architect of the harrowing attack on the Ukrainian city besieged by Kremlin troops.

Ukraine has assured that Mizintsev planned a similar attack on the bombed-out city of Aleppo, Syria.
