Boryslav Bereza: Kremlin Towers Are Fighting For Access to the feeder

Why does the back-door infighting in the Russian Federation go public?

The head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, threatened that the withdrawal of his mercenaries from Bakhmut could provoke the collapse of the Russian front and the Armed Forces of Ukraine to reach the border with the Russian Federation. Why is the head of the mercenaries talking about such scenarios? The Charter97.org website spoke about this with a Ukrainian influencer, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Boryslav Bereza.

– Prigozhin has a panic attack, which he experiences through public speaking. The fact is that the conflict that he had with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces was initially beneficial for him, because it gave the head of the Wagner PMC a certain field of opportunity. However, he did not calculate either his potential, or his knowledge, or his political capital. His political capital turned out to be practically negligible. Even his original partner, Ramzan Kadyrov, who supported Prigozhin, has now stepped aside. As a result, the head of the Wagner PMC sees how he is cut off from all levers of control and in fact minimizes the ability to influence any processes.

Prigozhin supposes the war in Ukraine to be his opportunity to earn money and get political points. Shoigu and his team minimize their competitor’s abilities by cutting him off from combat operations, not supplying the required number of shells or anything else, nothing more nor less. Prigozhin’s statements are only counting on the public, so to make it react with: “Well, give our hero help. What’s this? Everything depends on him."

In fact, the Wagner PMC is just creating a legend. The main merit of the Wagnerites is that they sent almost 40,000 prisoners to their death, and the staеу is not obliged to finance their upkeep with the Russian budget. Therefore, Prigozhin will continue to talk about the fact that the Wagner is the basis of the Russian army. It, in turn, will silently observe the Armed Forces of Ukraine grinding the Wagnerites. As a result, Prigozhin will return to Africa and will do his own business. This is the best prospect for him. The political prospects that he outlined for himself, sawing the budget for the army during the war, do not shine for him now either. There are too many who want to receive these profits, Medvedev, Shoigu, smaller officials and their relatives. Can this be assumed as some sort of prediction or rebellion? In no case. This is a common panic and an attempt to attract public attention.

– Why is the Russian infosphere full of such defeatist statements, clashes between the military, and back-door infighting? After all, they are exposing themselves.

– This is due to the fact that there is no single center, there are several centers of influence. For example, there is the Kremlin Towers idea, that there are "towers" of the FSB (the Federal Security Service), the GRU (the Main Intelligence Directorate), the FGS (Federal Guard Service) and the military. These are different Kremlin Towers that play their own games.

For example, Strelkov, who regularly criticizes the army. He is working for the FSB. He acts to weaken the military and their influence, because the FSB officers, who traditionally receive everything, now feel left out. In fact, now the GRU and the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces are now in favour. The FSB also wants to go to the pie, so they launch such things. In exchange for appeasing Strelkov or changing the information agenda, they want to be given some of their own flows, so that they control something, so that they control, for example, money for the restoration of Mariupol, which is “sawed”, but nothing is restored. All these stories are based on money and financial flows. Therefore, you should not take it as some kind of rebellion or confrontation with others. This is just a struggle for financial flows.

– What are the main defeats of the Russian Federation in the information war during the year of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, could you please mention it?

– The most important defeat of Russia is, oddly enough, Kherson. Because “Kherson is with Russia forever” and after that, the loss of Kherson is number one. Even "Kyiv in three days" is in second place after that. Well, the third information defeat is that Ukrainian information partisans, unsystematized influencers, unsystematized correspondents, the military, many of them, throw out videos of evidence of the unfortunate fate of the "chmobics" [mobilized troops - Ed.] and everything that shows how bad the Russian army is. From the fact that the “no analogues” are actually “shit”, ending with the fact that the “chmobics” are wearing not say but even slippers.

Therefore, these are the main top 3 things that greatly demoralize the Russians, discredit the idea of a war with Ukraine and show the weakness of the Russian army. All these three things are means of information attacks and are quite successful. By the way, not under the control of the state, but thanks to a large number of information partisans in Ukraine. This is very good.
