The police said that he resisted.

In Minsk, a 24-year-old foreign student hit a policeman — a criminal case was sent to court. The Minsk-Novosti agency writes about this with a reference to the prosecutor's office.

The fourth-year student allegedly drank with his colleagues in the city center. When the policemen approached him, as the security forces reported, the guy began to use foul language. His colleagues apologized for their friend, and promised to take him home in a taxi.

When the officers asked the brawler to show his ID, he allegedly kicked the policeman in the chest, and then, as the security forces reported, he resisted when they tried to put handcuffs on him.

A criminal case was initiated against a foreigner under Part 2 of Article 363 of the Criminal Code (resistance to an internal affairs officer in the performance of their duties to protect public order, associated with the use of violence and the threat of its use). The maximum penalty under this part of the article is seven years in prison.

The prosecutor's office sent the criminal case to court. In relation to the accused, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen.
