In Minsk, on the morning of March 13, the former press secretary of the Kupala Theater Mikalai Zayats was detained. The relatives of the detainee reported this to Zerkalo.

Mikalai’s phone is unavailable, his relatives also do not know his location. A search was carried out in his apartment.

Mikalai Zayats has been working part-time at the Kupala Theater since 2020. On March 31, 2021, he was fired with the wording “in connection with the hiring of an employee for whom this job will be the main one”.

It is important to note that in August 2020, several dozen people, including most of the actors, quit the Kupala Theater in protest against violence after the elections.
