Andrei Piontkovsky: Capturing City To Collapse Russian Defenses

Russian political scientist and publicist Andrei Piontkovsky, speaking on AlesYa Batsman's YouTube channel, expressed the opinion that the weakest point in the Russian defense is the southern direction.

"Then Ukraine reaches the coast, and all of Crimea and the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts turn into a huge cauldron. This is where the military part of the conflict ends," Piontkovsky believes.

The analyst recalls the words of Valeriy Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of the AFU, who said that the Ukrainian army needs more military equipment from the West to attack Melitopol. The expert believes that all the weapons that Kyiv is asking for from Western partners will be provided. It is already being delivered to Ukraine.

"We have all seen those shocking pictures of endless armored personnel carriers arriving in Poland. All this is provided.

The key point is broader opportunities for HIMARS; after all, the so-called Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb are provided. They extend the range of HIMARS from 80 kilometers to 160 kilometers. The entire occupied part of Ukraine is covered, except for the southern part of Crimea," Piontkovsky sums up.
