Lukashenka Fires Head Of Brest Region Investigative Committee Department

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has dismissed the head of the Investigative Committee department in Brest region, Dzmitry Kanaplianik. The corresponding decree was signed today, reports the press service of the dictator.

"Major-General of Justice Dzmitry Kanaplianik was relieved of the post of head of the Investigative Committee Department in Brest region and dismissed to the reserve due to age with the right to wear the established uniform and insignia," reads the message.

The 55-year-old Dzmitry Kanaplianik headed the Department of the IC in Brest region since October 2019.

After graduating from the law faculty of the BSU, he went to serve in the KGB. Since 2012, he headed the Main Department for investigation of crimes in the field of organised crime and corruption of the Investigative Committee, then - the department of the Investigative Committee in Minsk.
