They have already recorded several incidents.
Poland uses Bayraktar TB2 drones to guard the border with Belarus, reports the Polish publication WP Tech.
On Monday, the X account of the Polish General Staff published a message that the holidays are taking place quite peacefully on the border with Belarus.
“Soldiers of the Polish army recorded only a few incidents in the controlled area,” the headquarters message said.
It was accompanied by a video recording, apparently taken by a drone. The Polish publication WP Tech regarded it as confirmation of the use of Bayraktar TB2 drones. It should be noted that the General Staff publication did not mention the type of drone used. However, the fragments of the interface that can be seen in the recording do resemble the interface that is demonstrated in the Baykar Tech presentation videos.
In 2021, Poland entered into a contract with Baykar Tech for the supply of 24 drones and 12 control stations for them. The delivery is in batches of six drones. The Polish army received the first batch of six drones and control stations at the end of 2022. Since then, two more have been delivered. Completion of the contract is expected in 2024.
Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish strike operational-tactical medium-altitude UAV with an internal combustion engine and a pusher-type propeller. It can stay in the air from 12 to 24 hours, the maximum control range is up to 120 kilometers. It can carry four guided munitions (bombs or missiles). Bayraktar has proven itself well in recent hostilities.
Last spring, shortly after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it was actively used by the Ukrainian side against Russian forces. However, later references to the use of Bayraktar TB2 in Ukraine began to occur less frequently.
