At a party of the BBC Russian Service in Riga, a training grenade was thrown into the premises. One of the participants in the events told Novaya Gazeta Europe about this.

The event took place in the Riga bar Čē. By 11 pm, there were almost no visitors left in the establishment except the journalists. At this time, the door opened, a man looked inside and threw an RGD-5 training grenade at the feet of the journalists standing in the hall, an eyewitness claims.

It exploded, stunning several people. Those who ran out after the attacker reported that he fled in a black BMW. The journalists recorded the license plate number of the car.

Police officers are currently working on the scene. The journalists believe that the attack is related to their professional activities. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
