Political Analyst: Putin Defiantly Goes Against His Administration

"United Russia" is being replaced by the lumpen.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided that he should be nominated for another presidential term by war criminals like himself. He ignored the opinion of his administration, says Russian political scientist Ivan Preobrazhensky.

A group of "moderates" from the United Russia party, the presidential administration and big business would like "the people to nominate him," the specialist on Russia living in Prague told NV.

The nomination ceremony was planned for December 14, when the "direct line" was to be held.

"All the sociology, which of course we cannot trust completely, is surprisingly unambiguous - the number of Russians who are in favour of peace as soon as possible and no matter on what terms has risen sharply. The idea of supporting war, on the other hand, has dropped to around 10-12%. Perhaps they were trying to drag him into this social story, because it's well known that Putin is still a social poll man. If public opinion is presented to him in the right way, he will try to match it," Preobrazhensky said.

However, the dictator's entourage miscalculated. The reason is that Putin sees the possibility of a military victory in Ukraine, the political analyst believes.

"He does not want to be nominated from the masses of people. He defiantly nominated from war criminals like himself. The veterans asked him, and he agreed to be nominated. The clumsy way it was organised suggests that he is his own political technologist. That is, he organised it at the last moment, being under some pressure from his entourage and the administration, who wanted him to be nominated in a different way and at a different moment," Preobrazhensky commented on Putin's "nomination".

On December 8, after a ceremony to award "heroes of Russia", "DPR" militant Artem Zhoga came up to Putin and asked him to nominate his candidacy for the fifth presidential term. The dictator responded by agreeing.

The media noted that what was going on looked like a bad show.

On December 16, a so-called initiative group of voters supported Putin's candidacy as an independent candidate in the upcoming "election" of the Russian president scheduled for March 15-17, 2024.
