The city is controlled by the 252nd Sinai Reserve Division.

The Israeli army liberated the first city in the Gaza Strip from Hamas terrorists. Israeli troops are also successfully advancing in Gaza City, destroying militant targets and depots with their weapons.

The Beit Hanoun area is now completely under IDF control and is the first city to be liberated in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF Press Service reported.

Currently, the city is controlled by the 252nd Reserve Division (Sinai Division). This division took an active part in combat for the first time since the First Lebanon War.

In addition, the IDF has successfully advanced into the northern Gaza Strip while under siege and operates in the heart of Gaza City, where terrorists are concentrated. Fighters from the Nahal infantry brigade took control of Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip after ten hours of brutal fighting.

IDF forces also destroyed a terrorist tunnel located near the UNRWA school. Hamas missiles with “special” previously unknown characteristics were found during searches in the buildings in Gaza's most remote areas. The IDF has destroyed 130 shafts leading to the tunnels since the start of the war.

According to the IDF, the next stage of the military operation will begin when terrorist tunnels are destroyed and some engineering preparations are finished.
