Belarusian Officer: We Can Still Be Sent To War

  • 6.11.2023, 12:49

The threat remains real.

The Russian armed forces will remain on the territory of Belarus for another week: the "exercises" on the firing ranges have been extended once again from 6 November to 12 November. The "exercises" have been going on for 80 weeks. What's going on at the Belarusian shooting ranges?

Charter97.org asked a Belarusian officer on condition of anonymity:

- The Russian military is still on the territory of Belarus. There are many of them in Mozyr, Baranavichy, Vileika. Joint exercises are being prolonged precisely in order to legalise their presence there.

As for the "exercises" of the Belarusian military, they are clowns. However, the Wagner fighters are training with some units. I know that the mercenaries have trained with internal troops, officers, snipers.

I don't know what they taught our soldiers, but the Wagner fighters cause more problems.

- Why is that?

- From what I have heard, the Wagner fighters laugh at the level of training of our military, insult them in every possible way, use prison jargon, their stuff.

The second point is that they allow themselves a lot. On the level of rumours, there was a story that drunken Wagner fighters threatened a traffic policeman who stopped them on the road with a machine gun.

- What do you think about the SMS messages that have been introduced in Belarus?

- The General Staff has already said that this innovation will be compulsory in times of war.

I think they want to intimidate people, drive them into the barracks, constantly remind them of the war. Now all the propaganda is based on the fact that "someone will attack us" and "Lukashenka will save everyone".

But this innovation shows that it is Lukashenka's fault that Belarusians can still be sent to war. There is talk that if Russia tries to repeat the march on Kyiv, the Belarusian army could still be involved. Yes, this is unlikely, but as long as Lukashenka is in power, the threat remains.
