Who Do Belarusian Intelligence Officers Serve?

From elite and pride - to servants of the lawless regime.

5 November is the day of the Belarusian military intelligence, writes a reader of Charter97.org.

Belarusian intelligence officers swear to be "loyal to their people". Unfortunately, they still serve Lukashenka's regime. Special forces were involved in the suppression of the 2020 protests. Lukashenka's military intelligence officers are involved in provocations against peaceful neighbouring countries, aggression against brotherly Ukraine, surveillance of opposition figures, assassinations. From the elite and pride of the Belarusian armed forces, the spies have become servants of the lawless regime.

But there is hope for the true patriotism of Belarusian spies. Hundreds of them have joined the ranks of the opposition or are fighting on the side of Ukraine. During the stay of Russian troops in Belarus, there were repeated conflicts between Belarusian and Russian special forces, caused by the barbaric attitude of the latter.

Belarus hopes that its sons will make the right choice.
