Criminal Case Opened In Belarus Due To Belaruskali Accident

A criminal case was opened at Belaruskali because of the recent accident, the Investigative Committee reports. On November 3, an emergency occurred on the territory of the 2nd mining department; a transport cabin was “stuck” here, as a result of which five workers were seriously injured.

“Work at the scene continued all night,” the Investigative Committee reported. “A number of expert studies have been appointed, technical documentation has been seized and analyzed.”

The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Minsk Region opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code (violation of labor safety rules, which through negligence resulted in the infliction of serious bodily injury to two or more persons).

“The objective circumstances of the incident are being established,” the Investigative Committee notes. “As part of the criminal investigation, special attention will be paid to identifying the causes and conditions that led to injury to the company’s employees.”

Important to note, on November 3, in the Salihorsk district, on the territory of the 2nd mining department of Belaruskali, an emergency occurred, during which five people were injured. According to the Ministry of Health, all patients have severe combined injuries — fractures of the collarbone, spine, pelvis and lower extremities.
