Powerful Explosion Takes Place At Electricity Substation In Moscow Region

Several settlements have been de-energised.
On the night of Thursday, November 23, a strong explosion at an electrical substation in the town of Lytkarino, Moscow region of the Russian Federation. It caused a local blackout - a part of Lytkarino itself, as well as several nearby settlements were left without light.
This was reported by Russian news public pages. According to various data, about 10 settlements were de-energised. The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
The explosion occurred around 1:00 local time, locals reported bright flashes from the side of the substation.
After that, lights went out in the neighbourhood and a small fire started at the site of the explosion. "Electricity began to return to homes and flats an hour and a half after the incident," Russian media wrote.
Russians actively discussed online what happened and collected information about who was also left without electricity.
It should be noted that the town of Lytkarino is located 30 kilometres from the Russian capital.
