Mysterious Accident With Conscript Soldier From Russian Federation Happens In Crimea

Relatives are not allowed to the body.

Another mysterious death of an enlisted soldier has occurred in the Russian Federation. Andrei Lazhiev, 19, from the Karelian town of Pitkäranta, died in a military hospital in occupied Sevastopol after a mysterious incident.

The incident was reported by the Sever.Realii publication, citing the family of the deceased.

The guy was mobilised into the Russian army in June 2023, after which he was transferred to military unit #12676 in occupied Crimea.

There was no contact with the conscript for about a month after his transfer, but at some point he called his family and complained of feeling unwell.

After another time, the Lazhiev family received a call from a neighbour in their son's ward. He said that the soldier was in a very bad condition in the hospital in occupied Sevastopol.

At that moment, the young man could no longer move and had almost lost his eyesight. He also had no memory of what had happened to him.

The family contacted the hospital, but the administration categorically forbade them to appear on the territory of the medical facility without special permission.

The family never managed to get this paper, and while they were begging officials, their son died. The body was taken to Rostov-on-Don, where it has been kept for more than 20 days.

The relatives are not allowed to go there either, and they refuse to show the corpse. The death certificate states that the conscript suffered "brain oedema" with haemorrhage.

They do not tell the family where the young man was injured. According to the relatives, the military mockingly told them that their son died as a result of "homesickness syndrome" due to his unwillingness to serve.

The parents suspect that their son was beaten to death in the army for refusing to sign the contract with the Russian Armed Forces and participate in the war against Ukraine.

"As my son told me, (...) they were offered to sign the contract there every day. Every day... He did not sign. Yet there is information that they allegedly forced to sign contracts by beatings... After the death of my son, I can't believe them... I gave them a living child, and I get a coffin," the father of the deceased was indignant.
