Ex-Head Of Investigative Department Of Russia Found Dead

The body was found in a residential area.

Mikhail Maksimenko, the former head of the Interdepartmental Cooperation and Security Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has been found dead, his lawyer Andrei Grivtsov told RBC.

His body was found in one of the colonies, TASS reported, citing law enforcement agencies. Telegram channel 112 writes that he was found dead in the storage room of the psychiatric hospital.

In April 2018, Mikhail Maksimenko was sentenced to 13 years of strict regime and a fine of 165 million Russian rubles in the case of bribes from representatives of the criminal world and deprived of the rank of colonel of justice, on the total of charges in 2020 he was appointed 14 years of colony and a fine of 250 million Russian rubles.
