The military aerodrome in Belgorod was struck.
Ukraine's allies are working to supply the AFU with weapons to counter Russian aggression. In addition to combat vehicles and missile weapons, the AFU also receive munitions of different calibre and range.
One of them has recently successfully worked on the enemy airfield. Roman Svitan, colonel of the AFU in reserve, flight instructor and military expert, told about it to "Channel 24".
New Shells Appear in the AFU
Russian social networks are panicking because the AFU began to use a new type of weaponry - shells for the Tochka-U missile system. The wreckage of one of these was found at the site of a hit on the Belgorod airfield.
This is a fairly old ballistic missile, a modification with a range of 70 to 120 kilometres. The launchers were in service with Ukraine, but the shells were shot off in the early days of the war.
"A good weapon, especially the fragmentation-fusion warhead, it explodes in the air and covers a section of about 3 hectares, that's about a football field," Svitan explained.
He suggested that the reappearance of shells for this complex was facilitated by Ukraine's allies.
At one time, the Soviet Union supplied these weapons to many countries. The Russians have no defence against such weapons, except for the S-400 installation.
