The ship hit a mine near a port in the Odesa region.

The bulk carrier Georgia S, flying the flag of Liberia, hit a sea mine near the port of Pivdenny, Odesa region.

The merchant ship carrying grain was slightly damaged.

This is the latest incident involving commercial ships sailing in the Black Sea. The international news agency Reuters reports this, citing information from maritime specialists and sources in the Ukrainian government.

According to them, the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Georgia S with a cargo of wheat was sailing from Pivdenny when it was attacked on the high seas on Thursday.

A Ukrainian government source said the ship was likely hit by a floating sea mine.

According to ship tracking and maritime analytics provider MarineTraffic, the ship was heading to the Romanian port of Constanta.

It is important to note that Russia has repeatedly attacked Ukrainian port infrastructure and also installed sea mines.
