He worked for the GRU.
Oleksandr Dubinsky, an acting member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, used to be at the very center of high-profile events and various scandals. Let’s recall his expulsion from the Servant of the People leading political party, writes New Voice.
But on November 13, Dubinsky reached the very bottom in Kyiv: law enforcement officers declared him suspected of treason and participation in a criminal organization.
As stated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Office of the Prosecutor General, the politician carried out spy and subversive activities for Russia. Dubinsky probably even had a ‘Buratino’ code name and was part of a criminal organization that was formed by the GRU - Russia’s foreign intelligence agency.
“The main task of this organization is to undermine the social and political situation in Ukraine and discredit Ukraine in the international arena. For this, the group members received money from Russian military intelligence,” the SSU representatives said.
The intelligence service claims that the politician “spread fakes about the highest military and political leadership of our state.” “One example of disinformation is the dissemination of fakes about the alleged interference of Ukrainian officials in the US presidential elections in 2019,” the intelligence service said. “He participated in relevant press conferences to disperse pro-Russian ideas.”
According to the investigation, in addition to Dubinsky, the organization also included former MP Andriy Derkach, who fled abroad before a full-scale war. Also, a member of the group was former prosecutor Konstantin Kulik with the code name “Ptsichka” (“Bird”).
