A man died under the wheels of the train in Lida, while crossing the tracks at the red light of the semaphore, reported the Investigative Committee.

The tragedy occurred in the evening on November 9. The 50-year-old resident of Lida was crossing the railway tracks on the pedestrian crossing at the forbidden signal of the semaphore. At that moment, he was hit by a passenger train Minsk - Hrodna.

The driver applied emergency braking, but failed to prevent the accident. The man died.
