Lithuanian Border Service: No Peace On Belarusian Border

The situation is troubling at times.
Spokesman for the Lithuanian Border Service Giedrius Mishutis reported on the situation on the border with Belarus. Back in mid-December, Lithuanian troops stopped regular patrolling of the border. The flow of migrants, according to the representative of Lithuania, remains high and the border is not yet calm. The Lithuanian edition Delfi writes about this.
Mishutis notes that the border watch has been canceled as the fence and border control systems now allow for maximum security, but he says the situation is at times worrying.
“In fact, there is no peace. The largest flows have recently been in Latvia, and, for example, in Poland, 50-70 illegal migrants try to cross the border every day. The situation is actually turbulent,” said the representative of the Border Service.
At the same time, according to him, the increased security of the border is encouraging, since, according to him, a section of the border can be more closely monitored and controlled more effectively.
However, the flow of illegal immigrants, according to a representative of the Lithuanian Border Service, does not cause worries.
