Russia Is Scared: Medvedev Sends ‘Signal’ To The West

The Kremlin has refrained from this step for a long time.

I was frankly pleased with Medvedev's post with new threats of a nuclear war if the West gives Ukraine strike weapons and the Russian Federation loses the war. It pleased me because of several moments.

Firstly, the post was published before the Ramstein meeting, and is dedicated to its subject matter, which means that the Kremlin understands that the provision of “new heavy weapons and strike systems” to Kyiv is very likely.

Secondly, with this post, Medvedev sent a signal to the West and the whole world, which he probably did not want to send: Russia is scared! It understands that providing Kyiv with “strike systems” will lead to its defeat. The cause and effect relationship is very clear!

The Kremlin clearly saw the prospect of defeat in the war, otherwise they would not have given out such desperate and stupid warnings. However, this signal should have the opposite effect — it showed the whole world how weak Moscow is, which means that they will be less afraid of it, and this only stimulates the desire of the West to end this war as soon as possible.

Well, the third moment even made me smile: “the loss of a nuclear power in a conventional war can trigger the start of a nuclear war ... nuclear states have not lost big conflicts on which their fate depends”.

So, it’s “war”, not “special military operation” in the end. It means they understand that the fate of the Russian Federation depends on it. So, again, they see the prospect of losing. Well, it’s also sclerosis — the ex-president and alcoholic forgot the main Russian narrative of this war: “The Russian Federation in Ukraine is at war with NATO.” So if with NATO,then what kind of nuclear war are you talking about? There is just one Russia, and NATO has three nuclear states. Who is more likely to lose?
