Bellingcat: Prigozhin Pressing On Putin, Making New Demands

The confrontation between the Wagner PMC and the Kremlin is escalating.

Tension is growing between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and head of the Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin. In this confrontation the "RF director" is trying to placate Prigozhin. He even offered him the role of the now deceased Vladimir Zhirinovsky. This was stated by the head of the international intelligence community Bellingcat, Christo Groziev, reports Glavkom.

Putin yielded to Prigozhin and agreed to dismiss General Sergei Surovikin from his post as commander of Russian troops in Ukraine.

"A new confrontation in the Kremlin is brewing before our eyes. This time between Putin and Prigozhin. And Sergei Surovikin's dismissal is only the first stage of it. "We will see even more from here: the way the Russian guarantor will act under increasing pressure from Wagner," Groziev said.

Prigozhin's ambitions are growing very fast and he wants to get a piece of the real power in the Russian Federation. Putin would not mind if Russia's main "Wagner fighter" gathered a party of his own.

"However, this is obviously not enough for Evgeny Prigozhin. And so he began to exert greater and greater pressure on his patron, who had no choice but to switch to a defence. At the same time trying to get away from the top "musician," added the investigator.

Prigozhin is also trying to prove to everyone that it is his Wagner fighters who are supposedly achieving "success" at the front.

"Prigozhin cannot take a step back because he is constantly under pressure from his own followers from the mercenaries. Therefore, he will continue to press on Putin, making new demands," Grozev said.
