Defense Express: Kyiv Was Hit By New Missiles For S-400 From Belarusian Ziabrouka

The Russian Federation is firing long-range missiles from Belarus.

On Saturday, January 14, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with new missiles for the S-400 artillery system.

The Defense Express news publisher showed footage of rocket fragments with the index 48N6DM. This is a new missile for the Russian S-400 artillery system with a range of 230 kilometers and a warhead weighing 180 kilograms.

It is reported that, most likely, the launch area for launching 48N6DM missiles from the S-400 is the territory of the Belarusian airfield Zyabrouka located near Homiel, which is located just 20 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. It is this airfield in Belarus that has officially figured out as the S-300 launch area for strikes against ground targets in the Chernihiv region.

The proven launch range of 48N6DM as a ground-to-ground missile is 230 kilometers. This range makes it possible to destruct not only the capital of Ukraine but also such cities as Zhytomyr, Rivne, Lutsk and Lviv from the territory of Belarus.

Due to the use of the 5V55 missiles by the Russians with a proven range of 120 km against ground targets, all these cities were not at risk. However, 120 km from the ‘Belarusian axis’ made it possible for the Russian army to keep in sight only the cities on the imaginary Kovel-Sarny-Korosten line.

Taking into account the last strike, as well as the fact that fragments of the 48N6DM missiles were also found among the fragments of missiles that the enemy used back in December, the enemy began to systematically use newer and longer-range missiles for the S-400.

It is important to note that the use of artillery missiles for ground strikes involves their launch along a ballistic trajectory. Intercepting them requires missile defence systems like the Patriot PAC3 with MSE kinetic interceptors.
