A record PLN 97 billion will be allocated from the country's state budget for the army and defenсe.
The Polish Defence Ministry said that there is a high risk of war with Russia in the next 3-10 years, so the state launched mechanisms for the preparation and purchase of modern weapons.
Deputy Minister of Defence of Poland Marcin Ociepa announced this in an interview with the PAP news publisher.
Poland reserves a record PLN 97 billion for the army and defence in the state budget for the next year.
“There is a serious risk of war with Russia in the period from 3 to 10 years. It all depends on the results of the conflict in Ukraine, but we estimate that this period Russia needs for this. We must use this time to rearm the Polish army as much as possible, and this is a completely secondary issue regarding how accountants will calculate these costs,” said the deputy head of the Polish Defence Ministry.
