Intelligence service played a decisive role.
Military expert Yury Fedorov commented on the successful Ukrainian counterattack in the Kharkiv region and explained why the AFU managed to chase the enemy away from the territory it seized in a matter of days, unian.net writes.
"The simplest and most lapidary characterization of what happened in the Kharkiv region is called the term 'cascading collapse of the front,'" the expert says.
According to him, the AFU demonstrated creativity both during the planning of the operation and during its implementation.
"If one looks at the balance of forces, the Russian side had a grouping of up to twelve battalion and tactical groups. The fact that it was defeated within five days is evidence of new military tactics," Fedorov explains.
He adds all the battle maps show the Ukrainian military is approaching the border with Russia. It happened because Ukraine was able to concentrate troops at the right time and in the right place. According to him, intelligence played a decisive role here. And the Russian Federation "missed" this moment.
Moreover, the AFU perfectly demonstrated the interaction of infantry, artillery and aviation, the military expert says. There was also the rapid pace of the offensive, during which the enemy was lost and could not properly prepare forces to repel it.
