12 European public organizations call on the Honorary Consuls of Belarus in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to resign. The human rights center “Viasna” writes about this.

The initiative was taken by the German-Swiss human rights organization Libereco - Partnership for Human Rights. They created an open letter to the Honorary Consuls of Belarus in Switzerland and Liechtenstein Hermann Alexander Beyeler, Andrey Nazheskin and Timothy von Landskron.

“The fact that the three gentlemen continue to serve the criminal dictatorship is outrageous. Despite all the crimes, they continue to hold on to their posts, which I strongly condemn. Three Honorary Consuls have the blood of the torturing Lukashenka regime on their hands,” says Lars Bünger, president of Libereco Switzerland.

In his opinion, honorary consuls must decide whether they see themselves as democrats or associates of a cruel dictator.

By the way, according to Libereco, two out of four honorary consuls have resigned in Germany in recent months. Human rights activists asked them to do this after the 2020 elections.
