The tanks have already arrived in the country.

Krzysztof Platek, spokesman for the Arms Agency of the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, announced the transfer of Polish PT-91 Twardy tanks to Ukraine.

He told the Wolski o Wojnie channel about this in an interview with Jaroslaw Wolski, a political scientist and analyst on army and defense issues, writes Evropeyska Pravda.

Platek said that Poland would fill the gap created by the transfer of tanks to Ukraine with the supply of tanks from South Korea.

“There is a gap of more than 200 T-72 tanks, a gap of a certain number of PT-91s, I can’t tell the exact number of those, they will be filled completely, and even with a double force, because these are tanks of a much higher quality level,” he said. Platek.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak also said on his Telegram channel that PT-91 Twardy tanks from Poland are already in Ukraine.

The exact number of tanks has not been specified.

PT-91 Twardy is the Polish modernization of the T-72 tank. It was developed in the 90s. Vehicles of this version have a more powerful engine, an upgraded fire control system, and dynamic armor.

As reported, Poland plans to buy 48 fighter jets and 180 tanks from South Korea.

In March, the Polish Sejm adopted a law “On the Defense of the Fatherland”, providing for an increase in defense spending, as well as an increase in the size of the army by almost three times.
