Explosions Heard Near Chornobaivka Again

What is going on?

Against the background of Russia's full-scale military invasion of independent Ukraine, explosions continue to be heard in Kherson.

The sounds are coming from the Chornobaivka sector. This is reported by a local channel.

It is also reported that there are likely to be flights towards Mykolayiv, reports in Mykolayiv are already coming in".

What Chornobaivka is known for

The military airfield in Chornobaivka is used by Russian forces as a command post and gathering place for aircraft and helicopters, but it has been a constant target of the Ukrainian military.

The Russian positions were first defeated at this airfield on February 27. However, after a strike by Ukrainian Bayraktars, the Russians deployed new helicopters at the same spot.

On at least two occasions, high ranks of the Russian army, including the Russian commander of the 8th Army, Lieutenant-General Andrey Mordvichev, were killed in Chornobaivka.

On April 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated the occupants in Chornobaivka for the 16th time.
